Third grade students used a variety of lid sizes to create planets. Oil pastel was used to show value in each planet. Students referred to the color wheel for choosing the light and dark values of a color, giving the illusion that the planet was a 3-dimensional sphere. Students added rings, comets and flicked white paint to create stars to create a project out of this world.
