Kindergarten students looked at a variety of examples of Charley Harper's red cardinals. Charley Harper was a local Cincinnati artist who simplified animals and birds into a variety of shapes. The kindergarten students created red cardinal's from tear drop shapes, triangles and circles. The students then created bird bathes, nests and tree branches for their cardinals to perch upon. Some students choose to splatter snowflakes over their paper to create a winter scene.
