Third grade students created "Gyotaku" fish scenes. Gyotaku is Japanese meaning fish (Gyo) rubbing (taku.) Students painted neon colors on rubber fish. Students rubbed the fish to show the gills, scales, fins and an eye. Students created a background from chalk and paper. The printed fish was added on top of the paper with 3-DO's to allow the fish to look like it is swimming through the water.
